Assalamu Alaikum 

My name is Hanan, and I am originally from Syria. I have been living in England for eight years.

During my time in Syria, I lived a normal life—I was married and blessed with two sons. However, when the war started, everything changed. We had to leave our home, our relatives, and all the beautiful memories of our country.

When we arrived in Lebanon, we had to start a new life. I completed numerous training programs in social care and health education. I also worked with UNHCR, Amel Association International, and many other organizations and foundations.

Later, I came to the UK through the resettlement program. At first, everything was difficult. Once again, I had to adjust to a new lifestyle with a different language and culture. I studied English and completed several training courses. I also taught Arabic and continue to do so.

I started my own catering business and volunteered with CWR and GARAS. Additionally, I organized several fundraising events for various charities.

I was blessed with a third son, which required me to stay at home to take care of him. He will turn five in November, and I am now starting to think about my career again.

I also have a TikTok account where I share the photos I take with my followers. As a result, I have developed a deep passion for photography. I truly enjoy my photography course with the wonderful sisters and continue to learn new techniques.
