Our Story
Amanah Community CIC has been set up to support and empower women, including South Asian, minority ethnic and refugee women, through activities, courses and employment opportunities.
The Director is Aysha Randera. Through her role as Women’s Development Officer at the Friendship Café in Gloucester, Aysha has built a strong reputation and currently manages the Emma Willis Sewing Studio, delivering courses and activities for women in her community.
Amanah Community CIC has grown out of Aysha’s work at The Friendship Cafe in Gloucester, and support from Thirty Percy.
There, she runs a sewing studio, courses and drop-ins with local women in the community to build their sewing skills, employability and confidence.
The quality of the work produced by the women has been recognised through commissions for local businesses and now she is taking steps to grow and develop her work into an independent social enterprise.
‘Sewing the seeds of hope together, one stitch at a time.’
Our work
Amanah Community CIC was commissioned by Gloucester Services & Tebay Services to produce Christmas Decorations.
‘These lovingly handcrafted decorations have been made by Aysha Randera and the Amanah Community CIC, which brings together and supports women who meet weekly in a safe space where they share learning and friendship. We were introduced to Aysha through our partner Gloucestershire Gateway Trust, who have supported her through this journey. We love that the fabric for many of the wonderfully colourful birds has been recycled from traditional saris!’
