Calamity Kate"s Beginner Book Binding Workshop 1

Join us for a taster session for the complete beginner to bookbinding. We will use materials found in the recycling bin to make notebooks and sketchbooks and with simple stitching techniques. These can be given as gifts to loved ones or you can use them (as I do) for sketchbooks or list keeping. It's a fabulous way to use up your card recycling and you will also have a choice of beautiful quality wallpapers for the covers of your handstitched book.

Friendship Walks Thursday 17th October
9.15am- 2.45pm Our walk in October takes us past Sezincote, where we can view ( from a bit of a distance) the very Unique Indian influenced house in the Cotswolds. We start from the village of Longborough then walk across the fields on a pretty flat walk good for everyone, to Bourton on the hill. From there we walk up the long drive to Batsford Arboretum where there is a large cafe.

Join Book Crafter & Artist Kate for a Workshop to make your own bookmark.
Monday 28th October 9.30am-12.30pm In this class we will take leather and alternative fabrics and turn them into beautiful hand-decorated bookmarks. Kate will show you how to use metallic paints and basic embroidery stitches to decorate the plain bookmark shape before customising further with a tassel. These make beautiful gifts and Kate will share helpful tips on designing your bookmarks on paper, painting botanical shapes and inspirational ideas.

Sew a Bucket Hat for functional Maths Skills
Wednesday 6th November 9am-12 noon. Learn how to make a bucket hat using the sewing machine, and improve your functional maths skills at the same time .
Cost: £2 booking fee. Workshop is Free to those who would like to improve their maths skills.
You can do this workshop if you do not have a maths gcse grade c or above.

Mini Leather Book Making £20.00 9.30am-12.00am Monday 2nd December
Join bookcrafter and artist Kate Lennon on this workshop to make your own mini books. In this class we will take leather and alternative fabrics and turn them into cute little books. Kate will show you how she designs and stitches these miniatures, customising them with beautiful papers, beads and stitches. The covers are also perfect to decorate with paint and stitch and they make lovely little gifts. You will leave with at least one little book to keep for yourself or give to a loved one and Kate will share all her resources and tips for making more at home.
